【D.R.Congo】Project to Disseminate Flying Discs in Congo
This project aims to build peace in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa, where conflict still continues, through the dissemination of the sport “Ultimate.” Local activities began in February 2012, and now Ultimate is a nationally recognized sport, with about 300 people from 12 regions in Congo playing the sport in accordance with the spirit of “No violence, Fair play.”
One sport is now moving at a rapid rate in the underdeveloped region of Africa. Its name is “Ultimate,” a sport played using a Frisbee. The Japan Flying Disc Association and the Democratic Republic of the Congo Flying Disc Association will cooperate, aiming for a further leap in Ultimate in DR Congo through donations of Frisbees and local human resource development.
Feedback from Organize :
In Ultimate, which requires the three elements of “Jump, Throw, and Run,” the game advances through self-judgment (discussion) without a referee. It's been four years since I began activities, hoping to do something good for the DR Congo, but I am excited from the bottom of my heart to be able to make history with the Japan Flying Disc Association and the project Sport for Tomorrow at this time.
