Programme

SFTC Secretariat implemented a project to dispatch 36 Japanese referees to the ASEAN Para Games held in Cambodia in June this year as part of international cooperation through Sport.

This project is based on the Joint Statement of Japan and the Kingdom of Cambodia issued after the summit meeting with Prime Minister Hun Sen and Prime Minister Kishida during his visit to Cambodia in 2022.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation and the 70th  anniversary of Japan-Cambodia friendship.

This time, the SFTC Secretariat, in collaboration with the Japan Paralympic Committee, dispatched 36 referees to Cambodia for four sports: para-athletics, para-swimming, wheelchair basketball and para-powerlifting.

The dispatched Japanese referees contributed, utilizing knowledge they had developed in preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games as a legacy in order to strengthen the capacity of officials in ASEAN countries.

The following video of the project has now been completed.
