Africa Healthy Hospital Project (2022)
【Project Activities】
1) Visited Community Learning Centers (CLC) to introduce table volleyball and donate equipment.
2)Visited “Garden of Siloam” (a facility for children with disabilities) to introduce table volleyball and donate equipment.
3)Held workshops for CLC representatives from across Kenya to introduce table volleyball and donate equipment.
4)Activity Report: Reported at the 32th Annual Conference of the Japan Society for Crisis Management (May 21, 2023, Tokyo).
【Project Background】
A joint project with Professor Hideki Yamamoto (Teikyo University). Teikyo University collaborates with Kenyan universities, and our organization is responsible for community well-being through sports to realize a “Healthy and Safe Community.”
【Project Objective】
To improve the well-being of Kenyan residents (middle class and below), including health, support for education and employment, and the creation of a better quality of life.

Successfully introduced the concept of a “Healthy and Safe Community” to CLC staff and achieved understanding and introduction of table volleyball rules and its promotion.

【Challenges and Lessons Learned】
①Securing funds, especially travel expenses for staff from Japan. Funding is crucial as continuity is essential for effectiveness.
②Necessity of local human resource development. Since the goal is community well-being, it cannot be solved by a short-term project and requires a long-term perspective.
