【Sri Lanka】Soccer Equipment Donated through Sri Lanka Professionals Association in Japan
Soccer equipment including balls and shoes collected by the Fohlen Sports Academy from the Löwen Takasaki Football Club and the Hat Trick Soccer School at an event in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture was donated to primary schools in Sri Lanka through the Sri Lanka Professionals Association in Japan (SLPAJ) , a nongovernmental organisation.
The SLPAJ is not registered with the SFT, but donates sports equipment, musical instruments, and other items from Japan to primary schools in Sri Lanka.
Kei Honma, who has experience coaching the Laos Women’s Soccer National Team and the Sri Lanka Women’s National Team, took the lead in promoting this project to donate the soccer equipment.
By relying on his teaching experience in Sri Lanka, he was able to send the collected soccer equipment including balls and shoes to Sri Lankan children through the SLPAJ. The equipment was sent to Sri Lanka in August 2018, and it was received by 270 children at the CWW Kannangara Vidyalaya of the Sri Lanka Ministry of Education in January 2019.
