【Morocco】Support for Table Tennis Equipment by JICA Volunteer1

At the Japan Open, an international table tennis tournament held in Japan from June 15-19, 2016, we donated used table tennis equipment from Japan to the table tennis team of the Beni Mellal County Branch of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Morocco.

Morocco’s first table tennis gymnasium was built in Beni Mellal, where JICA Volunteer was sent, but there was a shortage of equipment. When the JICA Volunteer returned to Japan, we collected donations of used equipment at the competition venue because it is not a good training environment for athletes. A grand presentation ceremony was held, and the donated equipment was delivered directly to the people of Morocco so that they could utilize it for the development of the Moroccan table tennis world.

See below for the Japanese version.

Feedback from Organizer :

Thank you to everyone who cooperated. Official table tennis equipment is not sold in Morocco and cannot be purchased. In the future, a training camp for the national team will be held at this gymnasium. We will do our best to meet you at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics using the equipment you provided.
