Invitation of Gateball Project Staff from Uganda
Gateball is a sport that originated in Japan. In recent years, it has become popular overseas (including goodwill exchange competitions), and it is recognized as an elderly sport in Japan; however, it is enjoyed overseas regardless of age because there is no such stereotype.
We invited a person in charge of dissemination from Uganda to tour the national junior gateball tournament and the national adult gateball tournament held in Kumagaya City, Saitama Prefecture. After taking technical lessons, they also participated in a gateball friendship exchange tournament in Saitama and Tokyo to interact with Japanese enthusiasts. We can expect their dissemination activities in Uganda to suit the local circumstances.
See below for the Japanese version.
Feedback from Participant :
After seeing and experiencing Japanese gateball for the first time, I understood that it is a very strategic sport. I also realized that it is a universal sport that children and the elderly can play together without any handicap.
