Former professional baseball players visited the slum area where local youth baseball players live and engaged with them through baseball-based events, while also providing donated goods.

【Project Background】

At SMBP 2023 in June, we had planned to visit a deeper area of the “Smokey Mountain” slum and interact with the local community, but due to riots during an election period and related security concerns, we could not enter the area.

【Outcomes】

We were able to meet children who could not participate in the previous June event and share enjoyable time together through baseball.

【Challenges and Lessons Learned】

We want to create an environment where we can provide coaching on a regular basis. Due to shortages of equipment, we also need to build a sufficient environment so that children can fully devote themselves to baseball.
