ITTF-Nittaku Dream Building Project for Supporting Refugees
The ITTF and Nittaku have jointly organised a project to give dreams and hopes to young people and women in the Za’atari Refugee Camp in Jordan. The camp is home to about 80,000 Syrian refugees. We have so far provided table tennis equipment, including 21 table tennis tables, and conducted training sessions and exchange programmes. We established table tennis centres at six locations in the refugee camp and provided training sessions five times a week to 156 young people. The training programme started in March 2018 to train more than 300 young people by 2021. After that, we will help them continue these activities independently. Nittaku provided sponsorship worth approximately 75,000 U.S. dollars in total to this project through providing table tennis equipment, including 21 tables, 700 rackets, 240 dozen balls, 500 t-shirts, 150 table tennis table fences and travel expenses for dispatching staff.
