The organisation was established by Masao Kiba, the former captain of Gamba Osaka, to promote activities to encourage the emergence of SouthEast Asian J-League players. Activities in ASEAN nations have continued since 2012, and have been widely praised by many of the local parties involved.

In the ‘JDFA Football Clinic in Assumption’ the representative Masao Kiba taught around 100 Thai primary school children. The event was held with the total cooperation of Assumption College, and was supported on the day by the Head Teacher and the school PTA.
