【Project Activities】

Two former members of the Japanese National Judo Team were dispatched to a Judo dojo in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, for a two-day international exchange. Two Japanese high schools also participated in the dojo exchange. Interaction was also held with Sabrina Filzmoser of the International Judo Federation and Misato Nakamura, a two-time Olympic bronze medalist.

【Project Background】

Our clinic, which promotes Judo from Edogawa Ward to the world, decided to dispatch athletes to the HONOLULU JUDO CLUB, with whom we have had a long-standing relationship. As Edogawa Ward and Honolulu signed a sister city agreement in 2022, we aim to build an even stronger partnership in the future.

【Outcomes】

By having Hawaiian judokas interact with former Japanese national team representatives, we were able to use Judo as a powerful communication tool for international exchange.
