FY2023 JET Programme Post-Arrival Orientation in Japan (SEA Subcommittee) (2023)
【Project Activities】
Orientation for newly arriving JET Programme participants (Sports Exchange Advisors: SEA) who were assigned to local governments nationwide from summer 2023. A subcommittee session for three SEA participants was conducted.
【Project Background】
JET Programme invites ALT, CIR, and SEA from around the world; as of July 2023, about 5,800 participants were active across Japan. This orientation supports SEA capacity-building for effective local sport initiatives.

【Outcomes】
The SEA training included lectures on coaching, intercultural communication, and related topics, contributing to participants’ skill development and to more effective delivery of sport initiatives by local governments.

【Challenges and Lessons Learned】
In addition to classroom-style learning, it is necessary to plan schedules that include on-site visits and observation.
