【Summary】
The project was a joint effort by NPO Hiroshima Yokogawa Sports Culture Club, Hiroshima City University, UNITAR and UNITAR Office in Hiroshima. It included initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality and peace, such as the organisation of peace matches and webinars on Sport for Development and Peace.

【Project Objective】
The goal is to contribute to the sustainable development of the greater Hiroshima metropolitan area and the surrounding region and to the resolution of Global Issues that can only be tackled in Hiroshima, through Sport for Development and Peace (SDP) activities that mobilise the power of sport.

【Activities/Outcome】

〇 Peace Match

Date: 11 September 2022 (Sunday)
Content：During the Ange Violet Hiroshima vs Asahi Intec Loveledge Nagoya match on the same day, leaflets were distributed for making paper cranes. The paper cranes collected at the Peace Match were dedicated to the Cenotaph for the A-bomb Victims

〇 Online Seminar on Sport for Development and Peace

Date：22 October 2022 (Saturday)
Location：Zoom Webinar
Content：Athletes and experts on sport and development were invited to discuss the power of sport. The discussion touched on reconciliation in conflict zones, the role of sport in promoting cross-cultural communication, and its contribution to the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
