Dispatched a Boccia facilitator with a disability to a Boccia experience session held in Dakar, and oversaw the progress and operation of the session.

【Project Background】

Staff from TEUNGUETH PARALYMPIC CLUB in Dakar participated in the Boccia facilitator training program organized by our association. They consulted us about holding a Boccia experience session in Dakar, and we dispatched a facilitator.

【Project Objective】

To establish a network among persons with disabilities, and between persons with and without disabilities, for continuous engagement in parasports and universal sports.

【Outcomes】

We were able to manage and operate a Boccia experience session in a region where it was held for the first time. By holding the event in a public square where people gather, participants, including children and women, were able to join regardless of disability.

Staff from TEUNGUETH PARALYMPIC CLUB commented, “We were delighted that many people from the community, regardless of disability, participated in the square. We plan to continue holding it every Sunday.”

【Challenges and Lessons Learned】

When holding the Boccia experience session in a public square, there were many participants, but with only one Boccia set, many people had to wait for a long time, and the number of participants was limited relative to the event’s duration.
