【Project Objective】

To promote gender understanding through sports.

【Project Area】

Sports and Gender

【Methods】

Event/Competition Support

【Outcomes】

A survey on LGBTQ+ was also conducted, with over half responding that they had gained understanding. Furthermore, visitors to the booth wore rainbow goods while watching the match, which contributed to promoting understanding of LGBTQ+ among those around them.

【Voices from Participants and Partners】

“An event that prominently promoted LGBTQ+ awareness at a large gathering venue was fresh and I think it will remain important in the future.” (Booth visitor)

【Challenges and Lessons Learned】

At the booth, efforts were made to publicize the word “ALLY,” meaning “a person who understands and supports sexual minorities such as LGBTQ+.” However, it was felt that better tools would be needed to make it understandable to young children.
