【Project Activities】

Invited high school students from ASEAN countries to Japan to learn about SDGs through soccer.

【Project Background】

Implemented as one of the themes of the “JENESYS” program (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth), a human exchange project promoted by the Government of Japan (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) to enhance understanding of Japan.

【Project Objective】

Discovery and cultivation of pro-Japanese and Japan-knowledgeable individuals, and strengthening external communication.

Solving social issues through sports

【Methods】

High School Student Invitation

【Outcomes】

Promotion of understanding of Japan and mutual understanding. Participants shared their program experiences on social media and other platforms.

It was inspiring to learn about Japan’s approach to sustainability and how these goals are interconnected globally. Furthermore, we had a wonderful opportunity to watch the J.League Levain Cup Final. The excitement and passion of the supporters for both teams were unforgettable.”- “It was great to learn about SDGs through cultural experiences, such as walking soccer, which anyone can participate in, and accepting/enjoying different cultures. It reaffirmed that Japanese culture is popular even with people overseas.”
