【Project Activities】

Baseball clinics were held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from March 6-7, 2025, and in Danang, Vietnam, from March 8-10, 2025. This event was made possible with the title sponsorship of Vietnam Airlines and featured former Major League Baseball player Tsuyoshi Nishioka, freelance announcers Daiki Tanaka and Kinuya Miyake, and talent Miyu Kojima as guests. Over 300 children participated in total, with activities ranging from basic technical instruction to serious game-format play with Nishioka’s full-force pitching. Participating children learned the fundamentals of batting, fielding, and base running under the professional guidance of Mr. Nishioka and others. Especially in the game-format practices, the children’s earnest play shone, and the guests and instructors expressed high expectations. Lively exchanges were fostered with local children, sharing the joy of baseball.

【Outcomes】

Over 300 children participated in the event, with activities ranging from basic technical instruction to serious game-format play with Mr. Nishioka’s full-force pitching. Participating children learned the fundamentals of batting, fielding, and base running under the professional guidance of Mr. Nishioka and others. Especially in the game-format practices, the children’s earnest play shone, and the guests and instructors expressed high expectations. These activities are a crucial part of the initiatives leading up to the “2nd Asia Koshien Tournament,” scheduled for December 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Through baseball promotion activities in each region, we contribute to cultural exchange through sports and regional development. In the baseball clinics in Vietnam and Malaysia, networks were also built with local companies and sponsors, advancing the establishment of a more sustainable baseball environment.

【Voices from Participants and Partners】

Participating Child: “It was so much fun practicing directly with professional players! I want to become a professional baseball player in the future.”Parent: “I was deeply moved to see the children grow through sports firsthand.”Local Company Representative: “I’m delighted to be able to create wonderful opportunities for international exchange, even in Southeast Asia where baseball is not yet very popular.”Local Company Representative: “I am happy to contribute to the development of regional baseball culture. I want to continue supporting these activities.”

【Challenges and Lessons Learned】

Leveraging lessons from the previous December event, this time we successfully planned and executed baseball exchanges involving local children for half of the total 300 participants. Children living in various countries are diverse, and fostering exchange among children and adults of different nationalities through baseball is a true highlight of this activity, which we aim to expand further.
