JOSA Certified “Obstacle Demo Competition 2024 in Yoshinogawa” (2024)
【Project Activities】
To showcase Obstacle Sports for the first time in Japan, world-class athletes were invited to perform a demonstration.
【Project Background】
A demo competition was planned at the Obstacle Sports Yoshinogawa Course, which was just completed in March 2024. FISO and POSF were requested to dispatch coaches and athletes for the event.

To broadly promote and explain what Obstacle Sports are.

【Outcomes】
The event attracted guests of honor including the Governor of Tokushima Prefecture, the Mayor of Yoshinogawa City, and the President of the Modern Pentathlon Federation of Japan, and received extensive media coverage.
【Voices from Participants and Partners】
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with comments like, “I’m convinced that Yoshinogawa City will become the sacred place for Obstacle Sports,” “I definitely want to try it myself,” and “The speed of the world record holder was astounding.”
【Challenges and Lessons Learned】
As it was the first competition, operational issues became apparent.
