Obstacle Sports Coach Training Seminar (2024)
【Project Activities】
Since coaching in technical and physical aspects is essential for the new sport of obstacle sports, we have decided to train Level 1 coaches
【Project Background】
Coach training is an urgent priority for this new sport. To coincide with the demonstration tournament, we invited the Competition Committee Chair from FISO and a coach (Level 4 certified) from POSF to conduct a training workshop.
【Project Objective】
We conducted lectures on the characteristics, risks, and training methods of obstacle sports, as well as systematic coaching theory, with the aim of training Level 1 coaches in accordance with FISO standards.

【Outcomes】
Approximately 10 Level 1 obstacle sports coaches were certified for the first time in Japan.
【Voices from Participants and Partners】
Participants commented that they realized there is a proper coaching methodology and that this is a global sport, not just entertainment; many expressed a desire to aim for higher levels
【Challenges and Lessons Learned】
Not all participants who had actual experience with obstacle sports obtained coaching certification; only a very small number were physically capable of serving as coaches
