Sanix Cup International Rhythmic Gymnastics Group Championship 2023 (2023)
【Project Activities】
We invited athletes from Japan and abroad and held an international competition. Beyond the competition, Bulgaria’s Levski Rhythmic Gymnastics Club conducted school visits and hosted exchange events with local groups.
【Project Background】
Held at the multi-purpose sports complex “Global Arena,” opened in 2000, to develop the next generation through sport. The event has been held since 2001.
【Project Objective】
Promote healthy youth development through sport, enhance competitive performance and participation, and foster international cultural exchange.
【Project Area】
Sport Promotion
【Methods】
Support for events and competitions
【Outcomes】
Seeing world-class Bulgarian performances up close allowed Japanese athletes to learn from the real thing—an experience that contributes greatly to their growth.
【Voices from Participants and Partners】
“For young athletes, traveling overseas to compete is essential for learning and improving. Because we lived together during the Sanix Cup, we were also able to learn from each other’s cultures.” (Coach, Hong Kong team)
【Challenges and Lessons Learned】
Attracting general audiences is difficult. While we hope to broaden outreach and welcome more visitors, there are concerns about harassment through photos and videos of athletes. We will continue discussions with the federation to identify effective safeguards.
