【Project Activities】

We invited boys’ and girls’ high school teams from Japan and abroad and held an international tournament. Beyond competition, we also hosted intercultural exchange events.

【Project Background】

Held at the multi-purpose sports complex “Global Arena,” opened in 2000, with the aim of developing the next generation through sport.

【Project Objective】

Promote healthy youth development through sport, enhance competitive performance and participation, and foster international cultural exchange.

【Project Area】

Sport Promotion

【Methods】

Support for events and competitions

【Outcomes】

With competition and living areas within the same facility, teams could test their strengths and tactics on the field without prior information on opponents. Off the field, spontaneous international exchange flourished, supporting significant personal growth.

【Voices from Participants and Partners】

“We had many opportunities to connect with athletes from other countries beyond the matches. At night we gathered in the lobby and break areas to deepen friendships. Exchanging uniforms was also possible—it was truly fun.” (Captain, overseas boys’ team)

【Challenges and Lessons Learned】

The tournament was held under COVID-19 conditions, at the final stage before the shift to Category 5. We welcomed spectators while maintaining infection-prevention measures, and reaffirmed the power of sport, young people’s energy, and the inspiration created by cheering fans.
