【Myanmar】Baseball Promotion Activities
Baseball in Myanmar began to spread in 2000 by Mr. Iwasaki, a former UN employee. Although Myanmar’s first baseball player turned professional in 2013, Myanmar’s baseball population is less than 100.
Former Seibu Lions player, Mr. Atsushi Okamoto, traveled to Myanmar with the desire to make baseball reach more people in Myanmar, and inspire more children to aim for playing professional baseball in Japan.
At the nursery school, children experienced “throwing, hitting, and knowing,” which is the basis of baseball and also experienced baseball in a match format.
