TIAS & AISTS Short term Programme
Tsukuba International Academy for Sport Studies has been entrusted with the “Sports Academy Development Support Project” by the Ministry of Education and held the International Academy for Sport Studies Short-term Seminar in collaboration with AISTS. 37 students from 21 countries participated in the Programme and details of the Programme were reported on by news agencies both locally and abroad.
The two-week Programme was divided into two parts. Sponsored by TIAS and in exchange with Tsukuba University Junior High School, Part 1 involved lectures utilizing those topics specific to Japan such as the philosophies of Jigoro Kano. Part 2 was co-sponsored by both TIAS and AISTS and it was a chance to learn about event management etc. for the Olympics and Paralympics where officials from the International Olympic Committee and International Sports Federations were invited to speak.
