Mizuno has contributed to solving the problems of physical education classes in primary compulsory education by introducing the exercise program “Mizuno Hexathlon” to public elementary schools throughout Vietnam. The purpose of this project is to deliver a fun and entertaining way of exercising for all elementary school students in Vietnam.
In September 2018, Mizuno held a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam to introduce the “Mizuno Hexathlon Exercise Program” in the new course of study, which is scheduled to be revised locally.
The agreement ceremony was held at the Ministry of Education and Training (Hanoi) in the presence of officials from the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, JETRO, Japan Sports Agency, and the Japan Sport Council. Soccer balls and shoes were donated to 1,000 local public elementary schools.
In the following month, a memorandum of cooperation was signed in front of the Prime Ministers of Japan and Vietnam at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo. The memorandum is to promote physical activities aiming to create model cases for the introduction and establishment of the “Mizuno Hexathlon Exercise Program” in the new course of study.
From November 2018, the project has been able to offer classes using the Mizuno Hexathlon Exercise Program at 126 elementary schools in 63 cities in Vietnam under the official approval of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. The project will make further efforts to expand our programs to about 15,000 elementary schools throughout Vietnam, and more Vietnamese children will feel the joy of exercising and smiling from the bottom of their hearts.

Feedback from Local Contacts :

Mr. Nguyen Thi Nghia, the Vice Minister of Education and Training:
Mizuno Hexathlon has many advantages in terms of combinations of basic movements, competitions, and teaching methods. It can improve the basic athletic abilities of elementary school students. Children are having fun exercising with a sense of play at the elementary school that introduced verification. The Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam is grateful for Mizuno's activities related to physical education and will instruct related organizations such as the Physical Education Bureau to work closely with Mizuno in order to ensure the development of this program. We truly hope that Mizuno Hexathlon will bring practical benefits to elementary school students in Vietnam and contribute to the improvement of the quality of primary education as a whole.
