In northern Uganda, the Bidi Bidi refugee settlement is home to about 300,000 South Sudanese who fled violence in their homeland. About 60% are children under the age of 18. This operation creates exchanges through sports for the refugee children and Ugandan children of diverse backgrounds, using athletic competition to achieve mutual understanding.

The schools where the refugee children attend has seen a dramatic increase in the number of students. The mixture of children from many different backgrounds and languages is a point of stress for the youth. In the classroom, students divide into factions based on language and nationality, and quarrel with others. It has become necessary to create opportunities to communicate through sports and overcome ethnic or language differences to create a sense of togetherness and solidarity. This project offers three events: netball and soccer for girls, and soccer for boys. Teams consist of mixed ethnicities. Practice and two competitions are held.
