SANIX Flag Fukuoka International Junior High School Judo Tournament 2015 (The 13th Men’s Tournament and the 4th Women’s Tournament)
SANIX holds various international sports competitions based on the basic principles of healthy development of young people through sports, educating and improvement through competitiveness, and international cross-cultural exchange.
This judo tournament has been held 13 times, with 15 teams from 10 countries and regions overseas, and 115 teams from Japan participating. Teams were invited from Palestine, Israel, and the Chechen Republic with the cooperation of NPO Judo Education Solidarity.
In addition to holding competitions, various exchange events were held. The overseas team held a two-day training camp and took lessons from Japanese leaders and medalists. Participating teams also held exchange meetings between players, and overseas teams also held sightseeing including Dazaifu. Since the tournament venue and accommodation facilities are located in the same facility, the athletes were able to meet and understand each other’s culture while staying together.
See below for the Japanese version.
Feedback from Participant :
Comments from the coach of Conan Judo Club (USA):
It was a unique training camp and competition. It was a great learning experience to gather so many young players from all over the world and get to know each other and practice together. It was an incredibly good experience for me personally and I would love to participate again. I think the children of my team and the children of other teams have had good memories that will never be forgotten on this expedition.
