Japan Sports Agency Commissioned Project: International Promotion of Paralympics Teaching Material I’mPOSSIBLE
In this project, a workshop on understanding and using the I’mPOSSIBLE teaching material was held for teachers of kindergartens, primary, secondary and high schools in Singapore. Six teachers who participated in a similar workshop held in November served as facilitators to lead this workshop. We also visited two kindergartens using this teaching material in actual educational settings and found out that teachers there had a deeper understanding of the Paralympic Movement and that children were learning about inclusiveness through the lessons.
In order to promote the Paralympic Movement, we implemented a programme to promote I’mPOSSIBLE, teaching material certified by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), in Singapore in collaboration with the Agitos Foundation, which is a developing arm of the IPC, the Japanese Paralympic Committee and the Nippon Foundation Paralympic Support Centre. This project was the second of its kind held in Singapore, following the first one in November.
